Performing Arts
The Performing Arts program at Yarraman Oaks Primary School encourages students to develop a love of performing whilst learning skills and concepts in drama, music and dance.
Drama
In Drama students explore mime, role plays, scripts and improvisations. They develop confidence and self-esteem as they create, collaborate and communicate about the world around them.
Music
In Music students learn concepts such as rhythm and melody. They play rhythms on a variety of percussion instruments, boomwhackers and glockenspiels. They are encouraged to compose, rehearse and perform.
Dance
Students experience a range of dance styles and movement. They move expressively to different types of music. Students use dance and movement to express their ideas, individually and in a group.
There are opportunities for students to extend their Performing Arts experiences through participation in:
- Choir
- Guitar Lessons
- Whole School concerts
- Theatre visits
- Music Count Us In
- Opera visits
