Yarraman Oaks is committed to building a connected school community. Our school recognises the importance of the partnership between our school and parents and carers to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing.

Community Engagement

The programs offered at Yarraman Oaks which assist us in promoting a positive school community climate include:

 

  • Free Parent English classes

  • Free Parent Computer classes 

  • Free weekly birth to 5-year-old Playgroup sessions

  • Before and After School Care Services for our working parents

  • Regular community events on our school calendar to engage and involve the wider school community in our learning programs.

Kinder & Maternal Health Services

Kindergarten & Maternal Health Services

In 2018, a Kindergarten was built on our site and the doors to Yarraman Oaks Primary School Kindergarten opened at the beginning of 2019. The kindergarten also offers Maternal Health Nurses on site.

Parent Sessions & Adult Education

Parent Sessions & Adult Education

Adult education is provided by Springvale Learning and Activities Centre to help improve spoken and written English skills to assist participants in gaining employment. These classes assist to improve communication, writing, speaking and grammar. These are small and friendly groups. At these times we also help with filling out forms and help with job seeking. These classes are provided free of charge and require nothing but your time.

Playgroup

Playgroup

Playgroup offers stimulating and fun activities for children and social support for parents whilst creating a positive approach to learning. We strive for excellence in early years education and believe in strong and established links with parents, the community and the school. Our passion, commitment and people ensure our playgroup is a leader in early years engagement. Playgroups provide learning through play in a friendly and supportive environment. We cater for all children from birth through to 5 years old.

 

Typical activities include: Story time, Songs & movement, Construction, Home corner, Playdoh, Craft, Social play & School Readiness 

Hours: Every Monday of Term, 9:15-11:00
